Customer Interviews No.2

This week we had the "pleasure" of interviewing potential customers and this is how my experience went:

The opportunity: Restaurants are often busy and ask you to wait for a table. This wait can be anywhere from 10 minutes to two hours. Possible idea for an app that tells you the current wait time for your favorite resteraunts.

Targeted Customer: Young adults + , anyone that likes to eat out.

Questions:
1. How do you feel about waiting for a table at restaurants?
2. Would you benefit from an app that tells you the current wait time for your favorite restaurants?

How my process changed: Since the first round of interviews I relaxed a little. I wasn't as nervous about going up to random people and asking them questions. I also refined my interviewees by only interviewing people at a sandwich shop where alot of young adults eat out.

Hit the Streets:

Advice for future ENT3003 students:
1. Know what you are asking before you ask to interview someone.
2. Make sure your recording equipment works and know how to use it prior to your interviews.
3. Take a deep breath and count to three. Interviewing people might be scary but in the end all the interviews combined is less than ten minutes, which is less than 1% of the day, which less than 0.000025% of your life. You can do it!

  1. Hi Niamh,

Great job on all of your interviews. I really like your idea regarding an app that would tell you how long the wait is at different restaurants. I would definitely use your app, especially in Gainesville, since most restaurants usually have long wait times. 2. Hi Niamh. Great interviews and awesome idea you've thought of! I like how you chose a restaurant to find your customers since the idea tailors around just that, eating out. Working for a hospital, we offer the ER wait time through a phone app so this would be very similar and easy to implement. Might want to get started on your business plan :-). Great job!

  3. Hi Niamh. I love your idea! As someone who gets hangxiety (a word I found meaning getting anxious about being hungry), the long wait for restaurants is definitely frustrating! If I could use an app to see how long I have to wait for my food, so many of my problems would be solved. I loved your interviews and how you seemed to make them all very comfortable with you and willing to share their opinions. Overall, great post and idea!

  4. Hello Niamh,

First off, great job on your interviews and the way you asked the questions. This idea could be huge, if done correctly. If Chipotle could integrate this feature into their app, it would be a game changer. No longer would I have to circle around the parking lot waiting for a spot to go inside. 5. Hi Niamh, I love your idea,I think it is one that can be extremely useful for not only young adults, but anyone that eats out. You definitely seem very confident and relaxed while interviewing potential customers. I also like how you chose to interview people who are actually eating out.
